10 Best Home Remedies for Dry, Cracking and Unhealthy Lips in this winter

Most of the people suffer from cracked and chapped lips during the winter season. Sometimes the dry lips start bleeding also. You have to take care of your lips even before the winter sets in. 1. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer that helps in the healing of chapped dry lips caused by cold or dry weather.

2. Ghee /Clarified Butter

Gently massage your lips with warm ghee or clarified butter for 2 minutes. Do this before going to bed. Leave it overnight. This provides a natural protection to your lips and makes your lips soft, smooth and beautiful.

3. Mustard Oil

It is quite easy to get Mustard Oil in the kitchen. If your lips are had cracked and it very painful, you must dip your finger in the mustard oil and apply it on your lips. It may burn for some time, but will be very effective for your cracked lips.

Take some rose petals and soak the petals in water for 5-10 minute. After it has soaked completely, take out the petals to make a paste of it. Add 1 full teaspoon of fresh thick milk to the paste. Aloe vera contains natural ingredients that soothe the chapped skin and gently remove the dead layer of skin cells. It helps to strengthen the thin protective layer of skin on the lips and also provides a cooling effect. Apply the Aloe vera gel to your lips and leave it on overnight.

6. Glycerin

With the arrival of winter season, you should keep enough of glycerin in the stock to reduce dryness in skin. You can now apply just two drops of glycerin on your lips before going to sleep. As soon as you get up in the morning, your lips will be soft.

7. Honey

Using honey to moisturize your lips is the best. Especially in winters it will to smooth and soften your lips. You need to apply this in the night, before going to bed. It is the best way to clean your lips. It will also cure dark lips, caused due to sun exposure.

8. Sugar

Scrubbing your lips will exfoliate and get rid of the layer of dry and flaky skin. As a result, your lips will become soft and supple. Mix the sugar with the olive oil and honey. Do not let it dissolve. Apply this mixture to your lips and scrub gently in circular motions. Wash the scrub off with lukewarm water.

9. Petroleum Jelly

Petroleum Jelly is the good source of moisturizing your skin when it is affected by the winter climate. As compared to other natural home remedies, petroleum jellies can give temporary remedy to your lips.

10. Cucumber

Peel a cucumber and cut it into pieces. Now put it in the mixer to get some juice out of it. After applying this juice to your lips, you must keep it for 5 to 10 minutes to get best result.
