10 Simple and Effective Home remedies for Cracked Heels


The skin on the feet tends to become drier as there are no oil glands present there. This dryness causes the skin to crack. The problem with cracked heels is their appearance. However, in some cases, the condition can be severe if the cracks become infected. If the cracks in the heels are deep, they can be painful, hurting when a person stands up, and they may sometimes bleed.

Here are 10 simple and effective Home remedies for cracked heels:

1. Lemon Juice

Lemons can be very effective in softening rough skin that leads to cracking.


How to use:
1. Soak your feet for 10-15 minutes in lukewarm water with lemon juice added to it.
2. Scrub your cracked heels using a pumice stone.
3. Wash your feet and dry with a towel.

2. Olive Oil

Olive oil is a crack healer and has nourishing properties that make your skin soft and supple. It is one of the most natural ways to get smooth, soft, and healthy heels.


How to use:
1. Apply 1 tbsp olive oil with the help of a cotton ball and gently massage your feet in a circular motion for 10-15 minutes.
2. Wear a pair of thick cotton socks and wash off after an hour.
3. Apply this every day.

3. Sesame Oil

Sesame oil is very nourishing and moisturizing. It helps soften and soothe dry and cracked feet very efficiently.


How to use:
1. Pure 4-5 drop sesame oil on your heels and any other cracked parts.

1. Fill a bucket with ¾ lukewarm water and add the 3-4 tbsp baking soda. Mix well until the baking soda dissolves in the water.
2. Soak your feet in this for 10-15 minutes.
3. Scrub gently with the pumice stone.
4. Rinse with clean water.
5. Apply this twice a week.

6. Apple Cider Vinegar

The mild acids present in Apple cider vinegar will soften the dry and dead skin, making it easy to exfoliate. Once exfoliated, the fresh and healthy skin is revealed.

How to use:
1. Fill the bucket with enough water to soak your feet in.
2. Add the 1 cup apple cider vinegar and mix it well.
3. Soak your feet in the water for about 15 minutes and scrub afterwards to remove the dead skin.
4. Repeat this on an alternate day.

7. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera heals cracks that have formed and increases collagen synthesis. It soothes dry and dead skin. Amino acid presents in the Aloe Vera and it helps the skin-softening.


How to use:
1. Soak your feet in lukewarm water for a few minutes.
2. Dry your feet and apply aloe vera gel liberally on your feet.
3. Wear socks and leave the gel on your feet overnight.

2. Mix 1 tbsp of Vaseline and 4-5 drops of lemon juice. Rub this mixture over your heels and other cracked parts of the feet till it gets absorbed into the skin.
