20 Home remedies to cure Common Health Problems at home

Long ago the age of hi-tech medicine, people healed themselves at home using time-tested techniques, many of which are still valuable today. Home Remedies shows you how to treat common ailments and health complaints safely, effectively and cheaply at home.

1. Acidity

Natural treatment for acidity is chewing a few Basil (Tulsi) leaves after a meal. This not just works as an antacid as it helps the body absorb food but also prevents reflux and the formation of ulcers.

2. Common Cold and Coughs

Mix one teaspoons of honey with equal quantity of ginger juice. The concoction helps to expectorate mucus, providing relief for the common cold, coughs and sore throat.

3. Gas and Bloating

Add a few fennel seeds in a pot of hot water, and then boil it for five minutes on a low temperature. Strain the solution and then drink it. You can also chew the fresh fennel leafy plants if you can bear the taste. Else you can take a mixture of fennel, cardamom and mint leaves and boil them in water to make a concoction that can help during stomach gas.

4. Dark Circles

Tomato paste is one of the most effective remedies for dark circles. You can make it easily at home. Take one or two fresh tomatoes, one tablespoon of lemon juice and a pinch of gram flour and turmeric powder. Blend these ingredients nicely until they become a thick paste and apply it very gently around your eyes. Rinse it off gently with clean water after 10 to 15 minutes. Repeating this process twice or thrice every week will make your skin tone around your eyes lighter and will eventually make your dark circles go away completely.

5. Low Blood Pressure

Having pomegranate’s juice daily is good for heart and useful for people suffering from low blood pressure.

6. Migraine Pain

Eating an Apple on an empty stomach in the morning relieves one of migraine pain. This must be done for a few mornings.  I have been a migraine patient for past 10 years and this one worked most for me.

7. Acne and Blackheads

Grated cucumber applied over the face, eyes and neck for fifteen minutes is very beneficial for acne and blackheads.

8. Anemia

A simple remedy for Anemia or iron deficiency –  Pound 3-4 soft dates with milk and add a little ghee in it.  Eating this mixture will help to prevent Anemia.

9. Sore Throat

Best natural remedy for sore throat is to gargle with turmeric and salt. Mix half cup of warm water half tsp salt one/forth tsp powdered turmeric. After you gargle, don’t drink or eat anything for at least half hr for the salt and turmeric to do their job of killing bacteria.

10. Ear Infection

A drop garlic juice into your ear helps to relieve the pain of an ear infection.

11. Body Odor

A mixture of baking soda and lemon juice applied underarms will reduce body odor.

12. Nausea-Heartburn-Indigestion

Lemon is one of the richest sources of Vitamin C on the planet and it also contains nutrients like Vitamin B, riboflavin, phosphorus, magnesium, and calcium. Lemon juice with warm water can also help eliminate waste in your system and serve as a Liver Tonic.

13. Hangover

When you suffer from a hangover, a banana milkshake with honey can give you immense relief. Cold milk soothes the stomach lining and bananas with honey build up depleted blood sugar levels.

14. Menstruation Pain

Hot water bottles, painkillers, and stretching are all common ways to relieve period pain, but here’s one you probably haven’t heard of: Vitamin D. A small group of women who usually suffered severe menstrual cramps experienced significantly less pain when they were given ultra-high dose of Vitamin D five days before their next expected period.

15. Headaches

Peppermint oil is often applied to the skin to help relieve a headache. When it’s applied to the skin, peppermint oil can cause surface warmth, which relieves pain beneath the skin.

16. Vertigo

Basil is a traditional aromatherapy treatment for vertigo: Add leaves to the boiling water and breath in the steam to help with vertigo.

17. Relieve Toothache

Until you can get your toothache treated by a dentist, you can try out some of the home remedies to relieve toothache which includes using garlic, onion, salt water, turmeric, peppermint, thyme, cucumber, wheatgrass, hydrogen peroxide, asafetida and ice water.

18. Insomnia

Gently massage the soles of the feet with sesame oil. Rub oil into the scalp. Introduces 5 to 10 drops oil into each ear. Drink a cup of piping hot cow milk with rock candy or honey.

19. Teeth Whitening

One of the known home remedies for whitening teeth is the banana peel. We all know banana is very much nutritious and beneficial for health. Rubbing banana peel on your teeth twice a day will make your teeth whitening too.

20. Belly Fat in Women's

Excess belly fat in females can be caused due to stress, heredity, fat deposition near belly, aging, hormonal changes, poor eating habits, and sedentary lifestyle. Natural remedies for excess belly fat includes strengthening abdominal muscles, avoiding sugar-rich foods and carbohydrate diet, increase fiber and protein diet etc.
